LevelUp: AI Study App
LevelUp turns a student’s own notes into a personal study system. Add notes from photos, PDFs or pasted text, build a study pack of summaries, key concepts, flashcards and a quiz grounded only in those notes, ask a voice tutor, practice conversations in a new language, and review with spaced repetition.
Start as a guest with no sign-up and explore the Sample Library. Runs on the web, Android and iOS from one Flutter codebase.
Who LevelUp is for
LevelUp is an AI study app for students aged 16 and over who want to study from their own material rather than generic content.
Students
Create a subject for each class, add notes, build study packs, take quizzes, turn mistakes into flashcards and follow their streak, retention and a weekly insight.
Language learners
Mark a subject as a language with a level from beginner to advanced, then practice spoken or typed conversations in realistic scenarios with gentle corrections.
Guests
Open the Sample Library of ready-made subjects, including Biology, US History and beginner Spanish, with nothing to fill in. Adding an email later keeps everything they made.
What LevelUp does
From a photo of a page to a review schedule, every step stays tied to the student’s own notes.
Notes from anywhere
Take a photo or choose up to 10 pages, upload a PDF of up to 30 pages with selectable text, or paste up to 20,000 characters. The student checks the extracted text before anything is saved.
Notes split into sections
Saved notes are split into sections of a few hundred words, keeping paragraphs together, so everything built from them can point back to the exact place.
Study packs
A short and a detailed summary, the key concepts, 10 to 30 flashcards and a quiz, all written only from the student’s notes. Students can edit any card or question, add their own, and keep them when rebuilding.
Quizzes
Multiple-choice and short-answer questions with explanations and the section of notes each comes from. Results show the score, the concepts behind missed questions and a button to turn mistakes into flashcards.
Spaced repetition reviews
Flashcards scheduled with the FSRS algorithm at a 90% target retention, with up to 20 new cards a day. Rate each card Again, Hard, Good or Easy and see when it comes back.
Progress and reminders
Streak, cards due, 30-day retention, reviews and quizzes this week, and time per subject. Daily reminders arrive as notifications on Android and iOS and as a banner on the web.
AI grounded in the student’s notes
LevelUp’s AI works from what the student added and says so when the notes do not cover something.
Study pack builder
Summaries, key concepts, flashcards and quizzes built only from the student’s notes, with a citation on each item that opens the matching section. Up to 5 builds a day.
Short-answer checking
Answers in the student’s own words are checked against the answer key and the notes, marked correct, partly correct or not quite, with one sentence on what was right or missing.
Voice tutor
Ask by voice or text at a Simple, Standard or Detailed level. The tutor knows what the student was looking at, answers from their notes, and labels any general explanation “Not from your notes”.
Conversation practice
Ordering food, a job interview, small talk or a travel problem, at the student’s level, with translations, gentle corrections and a summary of mistakes and new words to add as flashcards.
Weekly insight
Once a week, a short note on what is going well, the weakest concepts and what to review next, written from the student’s reviews and quizzes.
Fair daily limits
100 answer checks, 50 tutor questions and 60 conversation turns a day with a free account, with smaller allowances for guests.
How LevelUp is built
One Flutter codebase, three platforms, and AI that always shows its source.
Flutter for web, Android and iOS
The same app runs in the browser and on phones, with platform-specific touches such as on-device photo reading and notifications on mobile.
Offline reviews
On Android and iOS, reviews work without a connection, are saved on the device and upload automatically later. If the same card is reviewed on two devices, the most recent review wins.
Citations by design
Because notes are stored in sections, every concept, flashcard and quiz question carries a pointer to its source, and the tutor can admit when the notes are silent.
Human check before AI
Students review the text read from photos and PDFs before it is saved, so mistakes in extraction never flow into study packs.
Images handled carefully
Photos are resized on the device to 2000 pixels on the long edge before upload, and pages are read one at a time so a failure keeps the pages already read.
Guest to account without loss
Guests can start immediately and later add an email, confirm they are 16 or older, and keep every subject they created. Sign-in works by password or a one-time email link.

Build something like this
LevelUp shows how Lycore builds learning products: one Flutter codebase across web and mobile, offline-first where it matters, and AI that is grounded in the learner’s own material. Planning an edtech app, a training tool or a knowledge product? Let’s talk about what yours needs.
